This season, fashion presents a more sensual side, with Hermès’ Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski leading the trend with a modern twist. While many designers have turned to nostalgic styles, such as the cone-shaped bras of the 1950s or Victorian-era crinolines and breeches, Vanhee-Cybulski offers a fresh perspective: “The message I want to convey is a concept of confident sensuality,” she says. Her vision for Spring/Summer 2025 is one of understated elegance, where the relationship with the skin and comfort takes center stage—without relying on the past. Instead, she reinterprets pure trends through the luxurious lens of Hermès, blending fluidity with the brand’s iconic leather craftsmanship. Vanhee-Cybulski’s standout fabric is a sheer mesh, cut into light pants with zippers on the sides that can be unzipped to reveal an ultra-long skirt silhouette.
They are paired with ultra-thin leather jackets – short, open, draped over bra tops, or styled like trenches, cinched at the waist. These styles echo the casual ease of sportswear while also upping the luxury quotient. Her approach to skin comfort is particularly timely, as she is one of the few designers in Paris to cast models of varying sizes, in contrast to the disheartening trend of size 0 models seen elsewhere this season.
The iconic silk twill scarves of Hermès have also played a significant role, with their vibrant block and screen-printed patterns transforming into summer essentials, such as light leather shoulder shirt-dresses and playful short rompers. The patterns printed on the scarves have also inspired the creation of woven leather dresses and embroidered mesh dresses. In terms of color, Vanhee-Cybulski mostly adhered to warm neutral tones that evoke landscapes under the sun, with only a few bright fuchsia accents. Vanhee-Cybulski’s footwear is, as always, refined, upholding Hermès’ roots. Chic riding boots set a foundation of classic elegance for the collection, while playful wooden-soled sandals add a touch of practicality—perfect for city streets and summer holidays. This SS25 collection balances sensuality with sophistication, making it an exquisite and luxurious interpretation of the season’s sensual trends.
